My superhero alter ego is Green "Grit". I have always felt strongly about persevering through difficult tasks. Several years ago, I attended a gifted session on Forced Failures and the importance of teaching children the skill of failing, picking them selves up, and re-attacking a task. I was inspired and began to incorporate more of these activities into my gifted programming. Recently the professional community has begun to research the concept of "grit". Research says that the most successful people are not necessarily the gifted but those who display the most "grit".
